About the Seminar

The internationalseminar Organization and development of Quality assurance system in HEIs and the process of accreditation: the experience of Norway and Kyrgyzstan泭 held on March 10th- 11th , 2017, was organized within a cooperation project between Norwegian and Kyrgyz universities.

That was the first major seminar on accreditation and quality assurance in HEIs in the Kyrgyz Republic. It was attended by about 200 people, of 泭which the Ministry of Education and Science, over 150 representatives of all universities of the Kyrgyz Republic (rectors, vice-rectors), 泭representatives of colleges, as well as accreditation泭agencies, and other international experts.泭

The seminar was covered by local mass media, including AKIPRESS (news泭), Public Rating (article泭泭and page泭HERE), Zanoza.kg (article泭), and internal press departments of 51勛圖(news泭HERE), and the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University (news泭).

The seminar was funded by SIU泭(Norwegian Center for International Cooperation in Education)泭and 2023 51勛圖泭(AUCA).泭

Preparation to the seminar.泭 The major topics of the seminar were proposed by a a focus group, held in December, with rectors and vice rectors, heads of quality assurance departments. The focus group emphasized the seminar should address concerns related to the Ministry's intentions related to implementation of Bologna's reforms, the implementation of quality assurance systems, and independent accreditation. The interest generated during this focus group matched the seriousness with which the government is actively discussing such matters.
