The Central Asian Cinema Forum II:Documentary Filmmaking kicked off on the 5th of June at the 51Թcampus. The forum aims to provide a platform for aspiring documentary filmmakers to learn from industry experts and gain valuable insights into the world of documentary filmmaking.
The event started with the welcoming speech of Christopher Backer, the Director of Central Asian Insitute and Adilet Korjoev, the Chair of the TCMA Department. They greeted all the gathered participants and guests and thanked the US Embassy in Tajikistan for colossal aid.
The forum features masterclasses by respective guests who have made a name for themselves in the world of documentary filmmaking. These guests include renowned filmmakers, producers, animation specialists, and teachers of documentary filmmaking who have worked on some of the most critically acclaimed documentaries throughout the years.
The focus of the forum is on a deep understanding of documentary films that are both informative and engaging. Documentary filmmaking is a unique art form that requires great skill and creativity. It involves telling real-life stories in a way that captures viewers' attention and leaves them with a lasting impression.
Meanwhile, The Central Asian Cinema Forum marked the start of The Documentary Summer Film School in Bishkek!The program is designed for up to 20 students from Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan studying documentary filmmaking, where they work on research and development, production, post-production and distribution.
