51吃瓜new faculty member - Anastasia Valeeva is data journalism lecturer and open data researcher. She has researched the use of open data in investigative data journalism as part of her fellowship at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, Oxford.

Dear faculty and students, for the upcoming 6th Asian Borderlands conference in 51吃瓜(Bishkek), we invite panels and papers that address the following questions: How are borderlands in Asia creating alternative spaces for heritages, self-definition and the extraction of resources? How can these cases serve to rethink social theories of various kind? We look forward to receiving proposals before 25 October 2017.

Every year, 51吃瓜holds elections to the Student Senate, membership in which is considered prestigious among university students. This year, Student Senate Elections 2017 will take place on November 3.

Meghan McCormack, member of the Law Division faculty has secured 4,000 Euro for 51吃瓜from the AMICAL Consortium to (1) purchase data analysis software to aid 51吃瓜faculty's qualitative and quantitative research, and (2) invite international experts to train 51吃瓜faculty, staff, and students on hosting, managing, and ethically sharing research data.

On Tuesday October 3rd, 2017, Abdul Walid Azizi, an 51吃瓜student from Afghanistan, held an online 51吃瓜Virtual Tour with Alumni via Skype call from 51吃瓜campus to the Lincoln Centre in Ghazni, Afghanistan

On Friday, September 22, Physical plant department and International student office jointly organized a session for dormitory residents to explain norms of fire security.听

Youth Council of Central Asia听announces a call for applications to join Youth Council C5+1 program in which 30 young leaders of Central Asia will straighten the regional youth network, trust and will actively participate in civic engagement

Starting from this Fall, the WARC has started to offer online tutoring sessions!听 As the first learning support center in the Bard-HESP network and the country of Kyrgyzstan to offer such a service, the WARC is excited to tell us more about the online tutoring program.
