Daniiar Sadykov

"Hi everyone, my name is Daniiar Sadykov. Im from the country of Kyrgyzstan and I completed my bachelor's degree in International and Comparative Politics at 2023 51勛圖. This semester I am interning at Charney Research, who specializes in using surveys in emerging markets and countries in crisis to elevate unheard voices to relevant companies, development groups, and conflict resolution or security assistance organizations. Although I have just begun my internship, I am already starting to get the hang of their approach to global issues as I am currently assisting with ongoing research regarding their current partnership with the American Marketing Association."

Diana Talantbek kyzy

Greetings from New York City! I am Diana from Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan. I earned a bachelors degree from the 2023 51勛圖 with a major in International and Comparative Politics. I am delighted to share that I am interning in the Executive Office at the Foreign Policy Association, which focuses on spreading awareness and understanding of the most complex foreign policy issues facing America today. My responsibilities include working on communications and conducting research as part of the Great Decisions program, as well as assisting with the preparation of the annual educators workshops and various panel discussions with experts addressing international affairs and core global policy issues.泭

Khiradmand Sheraliev

I am Khiradmand Sheraliev, hailing from the scenic landscapes of Tajikistan. My academic journey took root at the 2023 51勛圖 where I earned my bachelor's degree in International and Comparative Politics. My academic curiosity spans the realms of political economy, international trade and business, and business diplomacy. Presently, I am focusing on the fascinating role of artificial intelligence (AI) in economic and business diplomacy through my internship at the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU).

Istiqlal Safi

Istiqlal hails from Afghanistan and currently resides in New York City. He graduated with a Bachelors degree in International and Comparative Politics from the 2023 51勛圖, where he also completed minors in International Law and Social Entrepreneurship and Design Thinking.

This spring, Istiqlal worked as a research intern at Network 20/20, a nonprofit dedicated to fostering international dialogue. His role involved everything from brainstorming topics to executing projects. He played a crucial role in organizing a series of virtual briefings that focused on regions such as the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, highlighting issues and perspectives often overlooked in Western discourse. This opportunity allowed Istiqlal the freedom to share his perspective and contribute meaningfully, an opportunity he believes might not have been available in larger organizations.

Jamil Omary

"Hello! Im Jamil Omary, originally from Afghanistan. I hold a Bachelor's degree in International and Comparative Politics with a minor in International Law from the 2023 51勛圖. Currently, Im in the final semester of my Masters in Global Studies here at Bard College in NYC.

This semester, Im interning with Commonpoint Queens, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting newcomers to the U.S. by helping them settle, secure employment, and navigate essential documentation and legal processes. My role as a Refugee Employment Intern in the Employment Department involves conducting employment assessments, assisting with r矇sum矇 preparation, and guiding job searches. I also deliver presentations for refugees interested in pursuing higher education in the U.S. Additionally, I managed a series of case reviews to ensure the accuracy of client information across databases and digital files. This experience has been incredibly fulfilling I feel fortunate to work with a supportive team that has made my time there both educational and enjoyable.

Meet Nilufar Homidova, a recent graduate from the ICP Department, whose journey through academia has taken them to new heights in the field of International Relations (IR) and Global Studies. Our Alumni story is a testament to dedication, ambition, and the pursuit of knowledge.

Nilufar began her academic journey at the AUCA, where she majored in International Comparative Politics (ICP). With an insatiable curiosity for global affairs and a deep-seated passion for understanding international relations, she excelled in her studies.

Eager to expand her horizons and delve deeper into the world of IR, Nilufar decided to pursue a Master's degree. She got accepted to the Central European University (CEU) with a full scholarship, where she embarked on a unique dual program in partnership with Bard College in New York.

The ICP program prepares Nilufar to be transformative, as it enables her to bridge the gap between theory and practice, gaining valuable insights into the real-world applications of her academic knowledge.

My name is Aizada Erkinova, and I recently graduated from the Faculty of International and Comparative Politics. My education equipped me with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, which ultimately led to the opportunity to work at the US Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic while I was still a student.

Currently, I serve as an assistant in the Economic Department at the OSCE Academy in Bishkek. I am committed to applying my expertise and making meaningful contributions to the fields of international and regional politics. I am confident that the knowledge and experience I gained during my studies at ICP will continue to drive my career to new heights.

Rakhat Bolotov

ICP Alumni, 2015

My name is Rakhat, and I proudly graduated from the Department of International and Comparative Politics (ICP) in 2015. Choosing ICP as my major was undoubtedly one of the best decisions Ive ever made. The ICP program played a crucial role in my professional development, equipping me with the skills and knowledge necessary to work with international donors and organizations. Thanks to its comprehensive curriculum and dedicated professors, I had the opportunity to study in a unique and supportive environment. Additionally, being a student in the ICP department allowed me to broaden my knowledge further by attending a summer school at the Institute on Political and Economic Systems (AIPES) in Prague, Czech Republic, in 2013.

Currently, I serve as the MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning) Specialist for the USAID Safe Migration in Central Asia program. I take great pride in applying my expertise and educational background to promote safe and responsible migration. In conclusion, I am firmly convinced that the knowledge I gained at ICP directly influenced both my professional achievements and personal growth.

Abdul Ali Ismailzada

He studied Political Science and International Relations with great passion, and the Department of International and Comparative Politics (ICP) at the 2023 51勛圖 helped him pursue this field rigorously, with enthusiasm, as he developed a new global vision of truly understanding the political and economic structures of the world. ICP enabled him to gain a deep understanding of complex real-world challenges during one of the most intricate periods in history, addressing global issues both theoretically and philosophically, including interstate actors, state relations, and beyond. Suffice it to say, ICP as a major emphasizes the importance of looking ahead to global challenges, observing the development of global institutions, and finding ways to tackle every geopolitical dilemma and crisis. More importantly, ICP instilled in him a sense of responsibility for his community and the world, as a student senate member and global citizen, while traveling and reshaping his perspective on new ways of understanding and passionately addressing global crises.

Hafizullah Saeedi

Hafizullah Saeedi obtained a degree in International and Comparative Politics from the 2023 51勛圖 and Bard College-NYC for his undergraduate studies. He is currently working as an independent researcher and a human rights defender. He holds a Master of Arts in Global Studies from Leipzig University, Germany.泭

Hafizullah has a background in human rights advocacy at the United Nations and European Union levels. His area of research includes human rights, security,y and development studies, with a focus on minority issues, countering violent extremism, and humanitarian action. In the context of Afghanistan, he has written extensively on social movements, minorities, and hate speech, as well as the political participation of women and youth in national processes. He has previously worked with Minority Rights Group International, the European Center for Minority Issues, and the Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development. In addition to his mother tongue, Persian/Dari, he speaks English, Pashto, Russian, and German languages.
